Sparks & Shearn - Farrington Gurney
« on: Wednesday 13 August 14 16:33 BST (UK) »
Hi guys, I've recently gone back to looking at my family tree again after a few months away and started looking at a branch of my family which seems to have originated in Farrington Gurney. I think that I've probably gone back as far as I could expect to but as its an area of the country that I'm not familiar with and one which is too far to easily visit I wondered if anyone on here might have some information on the families that lived there in order to get a bit more context to what I've been looking at - obviously not looking for the normal wiki stuff which I've already looked at. The ancestors that I've been researching are the Sparks and Shearns which came together when William Sparks (b. 1784) married Hepzibah Shearn (b. 1783) back in 1807. Any information that could be passed to me would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Have a look at rootsweb Somerset Coalfield Connections. I think you will find some relevant info there
