Hi Ansett, Castle Yard and Walkers Yard would only have been about 400 metres apart.  Have a look at this link which shows Castle Yard as it looks today. 

Willow, you are correct, Castle Yard refers to the Castle Inn according to this link.  ;D

A very interesting link.

I was born in Wolverhampton and returned on several occasions,I have a feeling I would have walked many times in this area.
So nice to get an image of Castle Yard will print this off and place the image in my tree
