William Martin.

Hi all,
I am looking for information on a William Martin born 1874 in Lambourn Berkshire 1874, he  might have married twice once to a lady Ada (Harrison) in 1912, possible children Marjorie Martin, ( 1912)Ivy Ellen Martin,(1913)Lillian R Martin(1919), Harold victor Martin(1919). Now he might of re-married and some more children Billy or William and Joe (Joseph)? first wife maybe Elizabeth Gibbard who died in 1908 by committing suicide in 1908. It could be that Billy (William) and Joe are at the Hungerford workhouse in. 1911?

Sorry but you need to look again at your post and the dates given

What verification have you obtained for the events above as freebmd has several William Martin marriages in Berkshire

There are some military records that give details that fit your William Martin:

William Martin
Royal Defence Corps, No. 6050
Born: 6th March 1867, can't read the town but it is in Berkshire.
He previously served with Royal Berkshire.

Wife: Ada nee Harrison, married Newbury 11th April 1910, not sure that that is the correct wedding date though, think it maybe this one:

Ada Stroud nee Harrison to William Martin
Vol: 2c   Pge:375

Children: Elsie, Ernest, Sydney, Margery and another one that I can't read.

Parents: George and Mary Ann

His address: 11 Eastbourne Terrace, Backway, Speenhamland, Newbury

I was using the 1874 +/- 1 date but no show in the census. FreeBMD have a birth reg for a William Martin Dec 1/4 1872 Newbury registration district which includes Lambourne.

Using this date there is a William Martin in the 1891 census living with Thomas Little and his family at Red Lane, Lambourn, Hungerford . This William is single, an ag lab, born Lambourne.  Is this your man?
