More fascinating detail...had no idea that these were a development of the Ragged Schools.  It doesn't look as though Benjamin spent much time in the tailor's or shoemaker's workshops.  Would be fascinating to see whether the admission registers gave any kind of a clue as to why the young children were being admitted for their five-year stretch...
