I'll keeping trying to see if I can find George he's proving pretty elusive though   ::)

this is all I've come up with at the moment - don't think it's him as his brothers Thomas & William with their parents on 1851  ???

Thanks Ladyhawk

The scholar George could be him, right age, but his sister was a servant at the same age,  I don't know how they worked it out back then; I guess they were taken out of school when the family needed money.

It seems like in each generation for four generations had a girl with the name Cecilia as a first or middle name.

I wonder if Elizabeth (Betsey) Penfold is just as elusive?

Hmmm, that seems to be her, especially being born in Shropshire.

I  think that's her, I guess you can't trust everything on the Internet.

So far she's been Elizabeth, Betsey, Betsy and Betty... you're right that she seems to be just as elusive!

Thanks for all your hard work

It's very much appreciated

1851 Smallberry Green, Isleworth (orginal census reads PENFOLD)

PENFORD, Edward Head Mar 32  1819  Garden Labourer Twickenham
PENFORD, Susannah Wife   28   1823   ShifnalShropshire
PENFORD, Eliza Daughter    2   1849   Isleworth Middlesex
PENFORD, Betsy Daughter   1   1850   Shifnal Shropshire

Wonder if Susannah died between 1851 & 1861 and he remarried  :-\

That's great; 1851 census and she's Betsy again.

I never thought about remarriage, it's very possible...

Thanks again  :)
