Private Sam Milnes Coe 16852 Northumberland Fusiliers. His Medal card has one date, (30/9/15) but on CWGC website his DofD is a year later, 28/9/16) which one is right?

Do you mean he died 2 days before he entered The Theatre of War? His Medal Cards says he died of his wounds. How can that be?

I think JJen just had a slip of the finger when typing. Date of death is 1916 per your original post.  1915 is when he entered the theatre of war.

Thank you very much. I suppose the only way to really know is to look at his service record.

The Grave registration documents at CWGC confirm date of death along with 5 others who died the same day.  I don't think there's any question about his DoD, and as stated earlier, the date on the medal card index is the day he entered the theatre of war.

His medal card says he entered the theatre of war in the Balkans but died in France, he was in the 8th (Service) Battalion so the following may be of help:

Thanks for pointing that out, it was a typo  :)
My apologies for the error.
