help with marriage of Nikka Mohamed
« on: Wednesday 27 August 14 23:40 BST (UK) »
Nikka was the brother of my grandfather Ali Mohamed. He died in 1935. His death certificate mentions he was married but I cannot dechiper the name. Could it be that he married before he came to Scotland? There are no Mohameds in the 1911 census so I assume they came here after that.

If anyone wants to assist, here is a small snapshot of the name of his wife from the death certificate.

Yes, that's what I read it as too.

Did she die in Scotland too? If so, her death certificate should tell you not only her name but those of her parents as well.

If they had any children born in Scotland, the birth certificates would tell you the date and place of the parents' marriage.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.
