Managed to find a John Welding baptism record last night 1787 to a John and Suzzana. In Calverton. Now if this is a typo and this is the Wildin family it gives us our John Wildin of the right age.

Don't forget that, the further back you go, the less importance was placed on spelling!

And, in any case, it was the vicar/priest who wrote the names - and he wrote down what he thought he heard! ;D

In my notes I have John baptised 23 Dec 1789,  I cannot recall now if this is after I read the PRs at the MK library

Entirely true, and the reason for this thread. I believe Zilpha Wilding (Flute) is related to the John born in Calverton in 1789.

John, I was sure I had read something on here about these, thanks for link. I think I can safely say this is a reasonable conclusion as we all have found same names!
I can't find another likely candidate!!

Thanks again for assistance, I am sure I will find another conundrum soon.
