I was informed today that the Roscommon Herald Archives have been digitised, and are available to view in person at Boyle, and Roscommon town Libraries, and others in the County.
I would suggest however, you contact your Library to see if they have them to view.  Not sure if there is a cost involved though, but I would think it would be minimal..

The archives go back to 1859.

Hi

I have a distant relative by the name of Eleanor Nowlan.

She was sentenced in Roscommon Ireland for 7 years and was sent on the ship 'John Bull' which landed in Sydney 25-7-1821.
She was a native of Roscommon, town servant, 20 years old, pitted complexion, dark hair.

I would like to know if there are any newpaper writings about the trial, if so, how can I see them??

I would really appreciate any help.
