Hi  Pat,  I thought this may look nice done as painted portrait. I've framed it in an old world map frame. He reminds me of the old man in the sea character.   , Tommy

WOW.... pure magic and no rubbish on the floor!  Tommy, I love what you have managed to do to this pic, a pic I have never liked looking at. Just love the "painted" effect and the distinctive colouring This forum has enabled me to really appreciate the character of the sitter ... thank you.

With much appreciation
Pat

Carolyn ... thank you so much for these two restores ... they are perfect in every way!  I really cannot decide which I prefer... but I get a great feeling from both of them.

Your time and efforts so much appreciated

Pat

Love it, just love it, Restorer45.  I don't quite know what you have done to my man's face, but he no longer looks sad/depressed.  He looks like the 1800's Buckinghamshire labourer he was. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Japeflakes - thank you - this restore is so close to the original except he, too, no longer looks so depressed.  I also like that the light source for the pic is stlll obviously coming from the upper LH side ... apparently indicating that the pic was taken outside.

My sincere thanks for your time and commitment - much appreciated.

Pat
