i have a william scutt born in 1829 in sussex.i think his daughter was elizabeth scutt born 1864 in brighton and i think she went on to marry a man with the surname of willey.thing is i also have a friend who has a robert scutt born 1868 and i am wondering if they are any relation to each other.oh robert was also born same area

i have also got annie eliza born 1866 in brighton that definately married charles willey,i think they are all related but cant quite prove it.this couple married in 1990.

Have you looked for census records to see if there are family groups to support your theories?   Certificates would help prove matters too.  Do you have any you can give us details from?

1881 is free to search and there is a William age 52 born Shipley with daughters Esther 19, Elizabeth 17 and Mary 12.   All the girls are born in Brighton.  He is a porter.   Is this your family?   His wife has died.   freebmd.org.uk shows a possible death in 1874 for Ann Scutt age 46 in Brighton.
Scutt is quite a common name in Sussex.

this seems to be my family but i wonder where anne scutt who married charles willey is.i will have alook at the 1881 cencus.ancestry was free last week end and i started to do all sides of the family but it ended when i started work on these.i am looking forward to another free week end

Highly likely but you need more proof than that.    Too many trees are based on guess work!    Using Ancestry you should be able to find them in earlier census records to prove his wife's name.  They seem to have a lot of children.    There are other Scutt families in that area though.

right i have searched the 1881 cencus now and i find robert staying with william scutt dad.

Have you looked at www.freebmd.org.uk to look for births and marriages for this family?
The Robert you have found in 1881 is the child of William and Hannah Scutt.  They appear to be living with her mother and all are born in Horsham or Shipley.
