POW Stalag 357
« on: Monday 13 October 14 13:18 BST (UK) »
According to his returned POW questionnaire report my father was in Stalag 357 at Thorn in Poland from 1.4.44 until 11.8.44.  He was then in Stalag 357 at Oerbke near Fallingbostel from 13.8.44 until 7.4.45.  Was there more than one Stalag 357 or did they close the one at Thorn and move the whole lot westwards as the Russians advanced and keep the camp number?

The camp was moved because, as you said, the Russians were advancing.
