My Greatgrandfather, John O'Sullivan, married Ellen Kelliher.  He from Leamnaguila and she from Faranfore.  My Grandfather, Daniel O'Sullivan, (born either Apr. 12, 1868 or Dec. 2, 1866) in Leamnaguila.  Emigrated to US in 1886. Brother Mortimer lived in Coolbaun, Kilcummin, Killarney. Daniel married Bridget Sheehan in New York in 1895.  I've been told that she was from Co. Limerick.  While I have Father's, Mother's and siblings names I vcan't find anything on her place of origin.  Beginning to suspect that it might be Kerry. Were you successful in contacting Jidama or Dannyo, who inquired about Daniel O'Sullivan?  I'd like to contact them.

My 3rd G G Father, Michael Foley (1820-1891) was from the region M Catherine Kissane in Molahiffe 1843. They had 8 children of whom at least 4 emigrated to Australia around 1877/1878:

Catherine m Patrick Doyle - emigrated to Aust (shipping record states Leamnaguila origin and spoken for by the Rev F O'Connor at Fieres
John (Aust)
Jeremiah B 1847 M Catherine Murphy (8 children) living in Leamnaguila 1901/11 census
Bridget
Daniel (Aust)

I would love to make contact with any other Foley descendants or anyone else who is linked to the above.

Thanks for the welcome and detailed response KG :)
What I think I *meant* to write here was I wasn't sure if anyone on the thread was still active. I can only hope.

Thank you for the links, I hadn't delved too deeply into the details of the siblings of my direct ancestor as yet so the marriage record is most useful to cement the location details and reveal some parent information.

I have found townlands.ie to be incredibly valuable in establishing probability of records based on proximity - particularly when dealing with RC records and the parish name variations from civil.

Thanks again!
