Ok Omega  :)  I'll check too and we may meet each other wandering around street corners  ;D

Di, here is another picture you may be interested in since you live in Hastings, Victoria. I love the cow standing outside the shop  :)
Best wishes HL

Hi cazablanca,

That's ok with me  :)

There now seems to be a few of us locally looking into these photographs. Are you related to the family?

If you find anything interesting about the family or the shop please would you share it with me  :)
Best wishes HL

I have passed the information on to my friend, if you look at Hastings Past and Present FB Page, you will see who is asking... I just love research, and try to help anyone looking for anything!! :-) Thanks for letting me share.

Hi HL,

Thanks so much for that picture - I love it.

I was involved in the publishing of 4 volumes of 5 of "Hastings People and Places" by the Hastings-Western Port Historical Society and they had various photos of locals and pioneers.  I know there were photos of the butchers so will look them up and post them here if that's OK by you.

Cheers,
Di

Hi Casablanca, yes same person that I knew was also looking into these picture and some different copies that he has  :) His threads on another site have also provided useful thoughts.

Di that would be very interesting. :) Do you really mean copies of the shop in England though? Has someone sent copies to people in Hastings Australia?

I also hope of course that we're not breaking any copyright rules. I simply don't understand them. When I posted my pictures I thought I would be ok because the original photographs belong to my friend and she gave me permission.

Best wishes HL

Hi HL,
No, the photos I mentioned are from Hastings Victoria.
The Hastings butcher I am talking about is a friend's ancestor and a pioneer of Hastins, Vic. and she just gave me her personal permission to send the photos to the forum. There are a couple but I have to get them from another computer. Copyright is not involved in this instance, the photos are too old, besides they are not being used to make money from.

My friend was thrilled to hear what I wanted to do,  will put them up tomorrow.

Cheers,
Di
