The Haggard family were of Ware, Hertfordshire, from the 16th to the mid 18th century. Thereafter, until William Henry Haggard purchased the West Bradenham estate in Norfolk in 1818, they are recorded at Chesterford, Essex; Bromley St. Leonard, St. James, Clerkenwell, and St. Mary, Stratford-le-Bow, Middlesex; Knebworth Place, Herts.; Park Street, Westminster; and Norwich
