I am after any information on the above, who is my 2X Gt Uncle. I would especially like to trance any descendents if any - not sure if his children remained in US or married/ had children. Here's what I know so far:
Born 1840, Great Rysburgh, Norfolk, England. Died Portland NY 1916
Married an Emily (bn 1842? maiden name unknown)
children (2 born in England, and poss one in N York)
Emily (bn 1876)
Rosa (bn 1880)
Robert Jr (?)

Prior to emmigration (1890) he was a lay preacher and school master and appears to have travelled to US following release from prison (travelling on his own, so his family may have gone ahead) He seems to have behaved himself in the USA as the newspaper entries mentioning him show nothing dubious, just references to him officiating at certain weddings/ funerals etc.

1900 US Census says that Robert and Emily had been married for 28 years so maybe this marriage fits

1930 US Census; Kenmore Erie New York.
Emily M Skillings appears to be living with her grandson Ernest Skillings Crosby born 1898 U.S. and her daughter Emily S Crosby born 1876 England. Both Emily's are widowed. Ernest is single.

Looking at 1910 US Census. looks like Ernest's father is called Carlton Crosby born 1873 in New York, died 2nd May 1911.

Both Ernest and his father Carlton had applications to US Sons of the American Revolution.
