Interested in a John Palmer and Elizabeth Johnston who had a Johnston Christopher Palmer 1878 in Fermanagh and a John Palmer a carpenter who married a Margaret McQuillan from Carnlough but orginally from Antrim town area, 1903.

Hi,
   First marriage took place in 1871 in Ardess Church of Ireland, Irvinestown and the second in 1903 in Glenarm Church of Ireland, Larne.

family search ireland births and baptisms 1620/1881 shows the following children for this couple some no first name.
7 march 1873 palmer.
27 may 1874 ederney fermanagh,palmer
9 june 1876 fermanagh. johnston christopher palmer.this child could possibly have died and the next one as per the date you gave being called same name.
30 march 1878 fermanagh, palmer.
24 nov 1879 drumard fermanagh ,palmer.

It's quite possible the 1876 birth is the Johnston Christopher mentioned in the initial post.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
