Couple for Dating and comparison

Could anyone suggest a date for this couple please and does anyone think they may be the same couple.

1880's. Probably late decade as the studio has a telephone. Not sure when the exchange opened in Hull.
Gulp... 1904 seems to be the date the first exchange opened.

I'm sticking with the 1880's. I've had a good look at this & must admit my first thought on the outfits was Edwardian until I saw the bustle.
The card design is also 1880's & I've not seen one like this in the 1900's.
What do you know about the Barrys?
The second I would suggest is WW1 & into the very early 20's.
So datewise they could be the same couple as they look in their 30's in the first & 60's in the second.

OK William Barry had his studio in Park St. from the mid 1880's but was living in Coltman St. He was living in Park St. from at least 1901.
Start again;
William Barry was living at 7 & 8 Park st. in 1881 was in Coltman st. 1891 & back in Park st. then after.
So 1880's still looks right.

Thanks for that Jim.....Really helpful....The family is actually called Brown...I had to change the file name to the Photographer's name as there was already a file of that name. I believe they lived at 5, Thomas Street, Holderness Road, Hull in 1906.

They look the same to me Carol.  Comparing the chaps ears which are as good as finger prints, although their isn't as much definition to use for comparison from the younger chap, I think there's enough to say they match.
