The Common Room / Re: GRO digital images £2.50
« on: Yesterday at 20:27 »

I think some Irish records may be free as well but that would need checking as the source for that said that Scottish records are cheaper than I've found them to be. Very happy to be corrected.

Helen

GRO birth registrations to 1923, marriages to 1948, and deaths to 1973 are available for a modest fee of €0.00, plus VAT, in Ireland.

Folks should inquire if the English GRO have a price match offer...  ;D

It`s very puzzling.

However, I`ve already received a reply from FreeBMD, also stumped!!

I think I had Patrick in a hostel in Margam, along with a John Street, not sure but that "could" have been in second half 1950s.although  I`ve managed to mislay the information.

Thanks

Do the names of the children of the Patrick Street of Dungarvan, and his wife's name, at all match with the children/wife of the Patrick Street of Swansea?

Wife's name already posted. I can't post the names of the children as they may still be alive, but can be found on FamilySearch.

Thanks everyone.

I had seen the Dungarvan Patrick Street but discounted him.

The only precise information I have is that he appears on a cert in Swansea in 1950, and that he was Irish. The address then was the same as the Electoral rolls.

A key point for you to consider is that Patrick Street seems to disappear from the electoral registers in 1957 - precisely the same year that a Patrick Street died in Dungarvan.
Why no further appearances in the electoral registers for South Wales, if he continued to live there into the early 1970s?

Have you checked that they ( & you )

1) have trees

2)have put themselves not one of their ancestors as home person

3)& Have linked their trees to their DNA results

I don't believe step 2 is necessary.

I control some DNA tests. They are linked to a family tree, but not one I own, and they are not the home person.

Thrulines works just fine for these persons/tests.

Glamorganshire / Re: Advise regarding Catherine Murphy

1881 for info

Robt Coole 46 born Bath
Kate 36 wife born Tipperary
James 13 son born Cardiff
Louisa 9 dau born Cardiff
Robert 4 son born Bristol

So Kate was in England before 1871 census

These data say no such thing as far as I can see. Says she was in England before the 1881 census, but not before the 1871.

Death of Patrick's father, James, in 1950, also at same address as given for Patrick in 1957.

Patrick J Street only appears in Swansea electoral rolls for 1951 thru 1953. Then in 1957, Patrick Street makes a singular appearance in the Glamorganshire electoral rolls.
Before that, in 1940s, in Pembrokeshire.

So, the last appearance for Patrick J/Patrick Street in British electoral rolls is 1957, the year Patrick Joseph Street died in Dungarven. Hmn...
