Could someone help in finding the marriage of David Stevens and Lucretia Franklin about 1820 in the area of Limehouse London.

their son William David was born 2 March 1824 at Limehouse London ( as per certificate in Aust.)

Information obtained from marriage and death certificates of William David shows that his father was a ship builder/engineer.

Would be most grateful of any information received

Dear Shanko

I have just found out that James Fletcher Chomel was in South Australia before November 1865, if it is possible could you work back from that date to see when he arrived there.

Must apologize for this confusion, I have been told that he married for a second time. 1st in 1865 and again in 1876.

Hope I have not caused too much trouble.

yours sincerely

Hi Shanko,

That was a quick, Sorry I gave too much info. I only need the death of Ernest Benjamin Chomel, and  the arrival
of James Flether Chomel would you be able to search back about 5 years from April 1876. I have found single young males married very soon after they arrive.

thanking you kindly

Parents James Fletcher Chomel/Margaret Long they were married 16 April 1876 Auburn, Upper Wakefield South Aust.

Ernest Benjamin Chomel married
Ellen Annie Sterling Hancock nee Challenger
about 1907 Fremantle Western Australia.

Ellen Annie Sterling Chomel died
27 October 1910 at Auburn, Upper Wakefield South Aust.

Ernest then married Kathleen Woods
14 January 1914 Broken Hill NSW

He was working in the mines at Broken Hill with some of his brothers, they in time returned to South Australia.

Ernest moved around a lot as he was a miner and was after work.

Also would you be able to find out when

Hi Nutkin

I have noticed your entry for Portas, I have just started to research this family. I have the following

William Portass married to Emily Brown nee Pigott
on 8 October 1872 at Launceston, Tasmania. (as per Tasmanian Index)

William was born about 1836 at North Coates Linc.
Parents John Portass and Sarah Moore (as per
death certificate)

William Portass died 10 January 1916
"Brecath" Barraba. NSW. Australia
 Buried 11 January 1916
 Public Cemetery Inverell. NSW. Aust.

I'm wondering if the Portass from Australia could be connected to your English Portas.

Norfolk / Re: PIGOTTs in West Dereham and Hilgay
« on: Friday 12 August 05 08:50 BST (UK)  »
Hi Norfolkgal

I have just started to search the Pigott line. I have an Emily Pigott who was born to John Pigott and Mary Rolfe about 1843 in Dereham Norfolk. as according to her death certificate in Australia.

I was wondering if you have any record of her birth?

I picked up on the family on 1841 Census and
Emily is shown in the 1851 Census with her brothers William, Robert and sister Harriet in the Union Workhouse Downham Norfolk.

According to the death cert. she married a James Brown where and when not known. there was son Gabriel R. born about 1864.

Her second marriage was to William Portass at Launceston, Tasmania. Date of marriage is 8 October 1872.

Emily Portass died 6 June 1907 Inverell, NSW. Australia

I would be very grateful of any info. on Emily
