Thanks to those who replied but unfortunately this is not my relative. I have now established that John is shown in the Electoral register at 3 West View Terrace, Ebbw Vale for 1887, so logically he must have died between 1886 and September, 1889.

Hello Micheal,
Unfortunately I don't have an Ethyl in my tree. The Bulmer family name appears all the way down the east coast of the UK from Northumberland to the Wash, with a further branch in the Essex area. My own (maternal) line were all from "Old" Hartlepool rather than West Hartlepool, though several did emigrate to Canada.
regards,
Glynn

I am stuck! I'm looking for my 2 x Gt Grandfather's death. He was baptised on 28th December, 1817 in Llanbadarn Fawr, Cardiganshire. The 1851 Census shows him as a Rail Straightener living at the Rhymney Valley Steelworks. He married Mary Owen in Newport in 1853 and they had three children Eleanor, Mary and William. I have been able to trace the family up to 1881 when John was a lodger in Hill Street, Ebbw Vale, still working as a Rail Straightener. Eleanor married in July 1881 and the certificate shows her father and his occupation. His wife died in September 1889 and is shown to be resident at 3 West View Terrace, Ebbw Vale (which adjoins Hill Street) and is described as a widow. The daughter, Mary, moved into West View Terrace after her mother's death so I know that it is the correct certificate.

I have obtained numerous death certificates for John Davies in the Bedwellty area but none seem to match, being either the wrong age or occupation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi one marriage I keep coming back to is that of a Daniel Williams to ( on same page) Eleanor Davies Sept qtr 1881 Narberth, Pembrokeshire, from 1891 to 1911 Eleanor gives her pob as Blackwood, Monmouthshire which I see is approx 4 miles from Mynyddislwyn, in 1891 she is a Dressmaker and dies Narberth June qtr 1922 aged 66.

One to check out possibly.

Thank you for that, I had seen the entry and have sent off for marriage certificates. Interestingly Eleanor's mother was born in Ambleston, Pembs, not a million miles from Narberth.

Searching for information regarding Eleanor Davies, born Mynyddyslwyn, Monmouthshire, 20th April 1856, eldest daughter of John and Mary Davies. Last known location was in Commercial Street, Griffithstown, Monmouthshire in 1881 where she was a Miliner, living with her mother.

Looking for a birth record for my Gt Gt Gt Grandfather, Simon Davies, born circa 1776 Llanbadarn Fawr, married Elinor Owens in 1806 and died 1848. He was a non-conformist attending the Soar Chapel which opened in 1803.
