Armagh / Mrs Jan Verner
« on: Thursday 01 November 12 22:46 GMT (UK)  »
When I visited Ireland from New Zealand in 1983, my grandmother gave me the address of a Mrs Jan Verner of * telling me she was our only relative left. (have since found that not the case) Anyway time didn't allow me to track her down then. Can anyone help with who she might be? I don't know her maiden name or for that matter anything else about her. Grateful for any help.
Regards

Thanks so much gaffy. A bit for me to go on. Yes you have the correct family in the census. Where did you find the William Barton and Margaret Crane marriage details as that sounds promising.
Thanks again :)

Fermanagh / Lily May Barton of Drumhurn
« on: Monday 22 October 12 01:56 BST (UK)  »
My grandmother Lily May Barton was born 18 August 1909 in Fermanagh on the farm known as Drumhurn. Her father, William Barton, died shortly before she was born aged 79.
He had been married before and I am told he had three sons (Greg, William and Thomas)and two daughters by this first marriage. Don't know the daughters names but one married an Armstrong (school master of Enniskillen workhouse) and the other married a Whittaker.
Any information on William Barton and this family would be much appreciated :)

A big thank you for all the help. Haven't managed to extend the height of my tree but it's width has grown and that is satisfying too.  :)
