You presumably have him on the 1881 census where he is shown as married to Mary and eldest child is 11Hi thank you for the information. David.
However - Mary was b Worksop Notts so they may not have married in Yorkshire.
You would be best buying a copy of one of the childrens birth certs to get her maiden name
1881 shows Henry was aged 9 and b Liverpool and also a dtr Elizabeth b 1874 b Liverpool

Did he have children? If so when and where was eldest born?
These sorts of things will narrow down when and where he may have married, and thus aid any search for a marriage. As well as confirm, if a marriage for that name was found, whether or not it is likely to be the right person!
