Thanks, it looks like the right person . Are you using familysearch to get Walter's marriage details? I get a blank when I try. I usually use Ancestry but get no matches for either birth or marriage details either. The army notification is headed Donore, S.C Road, Dublin. The minister is J.M.Hamilton the license is by Rev T.H.Chapman (Chaplain) the record was entered into the 2nd  Gordon Highlanders records. It looks like Jane's birth, as her father was William and mother was Grace although this is unconfirmed. Do you have the description so that I can get her birth certificate.

Walter

There is no record of either the marriage or birth of Joan in Ireland on this site

Hi Ken
I would like to get a copy of their marriage certificate. How would I go about this considering both are UK citizens and the marriage is in Ireland? The army notification of the marrage states it was in Donore Presbyterian Church Dublin on January 6th 1897 and witnessed by William Joseph McEwan. Are the census of British army personnel in Ireland recorded by the Irish or by the British Army?

Hi  W.J.D. Pryce of Gordon Highlanders married in Donore Ireland to Joan(Jane) Catherin McEwan on 6th Jan 1897. Joan was born in Ireland in 1879, her father William? was in the British army stationed in Ireland. I am particularly interested in the father and his regiment.
