Kent / Millens in Hothfield
« on: Sunday 03 July 11 11:35 BST (UK)  »
I believe my g g greatgrandmother Lydia Millen came from Hothfield in Kent. I have her marrying in London a James Barthram in 1838. According to the LDS records she had three sisters and her father was John Millen mother Ann ?. Apart from visiting Kent how can I find out more about this family?
All help appreciated.

Many thanks...................Cybrgran

If you would like a copy I will try to find it.

Hi Rita

Yes I think we are cousins twice removed.! I actually met Samuel Johnston when my grandma took me to Armagh when I was young. I remember him being very frail.
I have found so many cousins whilst researching my family tree's. I looked into my father's background first and received some super photo's from relatives I managed to contact in Eccles.
Also Bernard and myself have been very successful in discovering our grandmother 'MAGUIRE' ancestors and are regularily in touch with new cousins in the USA.
It has taken a long time but has been a very interesting journey.

Hi Rita

He was also my g grandfather. One of his sons was my grandfather Joseph James Johnston who married Rose Ann Maguire. I am the daughter of Rosalind Johnston/Watson.
How are you descended from him?

My grandmother Eliza Ann Smith worked at Fountaindale in 1881. She was born in Brinsley in 1860. In 1884 she married a William Kay, they married in Chorlton on Medlock, by 1891 she was a widow and living in Huddersfield.
