Thank you so much amondg for your time on this.

I'm trying to "track" James and Mary as they didn't seem to stay in one place very long!

Mary was born in Wimbish, James in Widdington. They get married in Berden in November 1834 but I cant see that they have any links here. They have Joseph in 1835 in Stocking Pelham (who is baptised in April and dies in June of the same year) they then have William in 1836 also in Stocking Pelham. The rest of their children (who I've managed to find so far) were all born in Widdington in 1838, 1841, 1844 and 1846.
He was a shoemaker so may have moved around with work or may have done his apprenticeship around Berden or they could they have got married away from their home towns because she was pregnant????

I try to get a feel for their lives etc rather than just names on a tree

Thank you for all the details ref. Edmund and Elizabeth Salmon as I hadn't got any confirmed details regarding them yet

Kind regards

Edmund Salmon (witness?) was Mary's father and I think that her mother was named Elizabeth (still need to confirm this) so the birth info provided DavidG02 isn't the correct one as my Mary was born in Wimbish c. 1807

Jangeo - i've sent a PM with email address for your kind offer.

Lancashire / John SINGLETON accident in Ditton
« on: Friday 28 October 11 12:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi Everyone

I'm hoping someone out there can help me.  My Nan used to say that one of our relatives was killed at work in a chemical accident at work in Ditton.  I am trying to confirm or otherwise this by trying to find a newspaper article or inquest details but I dont know where to start.

The details I have are as follows:

John SINGLETON b. 1876 in Bold married Julia DONOVAN In 1896 in Runcorn, they had a little girl Maude in 1897.

In 1901 they were living in Widnes and he was a chemical labourer.

He died 16 Aug 1901.

Any help would be great

Hi Marlee

Thank you so much for taking the time to have a look in the cemetery.  What a shame there was no memorial  :(

I havent got the exact birth dates for Mary Ann (abt 1836) but John Thomas  was born 17/10/1868. In 1911 Mary Ann was living at 21 Heath Lane, Warrington with her widowed daughter Kate Peers and John Thomas was living at 9 Heath Lane with his neice Edith Holmes (nee Peers).

I would very much appreciate it if you do have time when you next go to the library to look up obituaries.

Thanks again

Thank you everyone for taking the time to reply

Derek - that site is where I found the grave information - is so exciting when something "pops up" after you've entered all your info and you realise they are the correct people!

Marlee - thank you for your kind offer - that would be very much appreciated when you are next in the area.  I just hope that there is something there as there were 3 family members in the same plot
