Durham / Tamar Grieves

Hello folks

Been a while since I did any genealogy but I'm back at it.

I have a Tamar Grieves b 1808 Middleton in Teesdale. She married Martin Bell b. 1806 Barnard Castle. Marriage date 7 May 1834 St Marys, Barnard Castle.

Tamar had an illigitimate dau Mary Grieves b.1830 Durham.

I amtrying to find Tamar Grieves family but keep hitting a brick wall. I know the Bell's lived in Romaldkirk/Barnard Castle area.

I have found a Tamar Coatesworth b.1808 in Stanley plus all her relatives. The name Tamer was handed down the generations. Ive no proof this Tamar is mine though. Although I found her family around Middleton in Teesdale area also.

Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Durham / Maiden name for Elizabeth Tempest

Hi folks

Im struggling trying to find a maiden name for Elizabeth Tempest b.1792ish Gateshead. Ive found her in 1841 census p.21 piece/296/13 HO107. With Eliz Johnson,neice. 1851 census p.10 Folio 2402/603 HO107 with neice Fanny Huggup,nephew Robert Hann and Isabella Johnson, neice.

Can anyone find Elizabeth's marriage please? I need her maiden name and full name of spouse.

Durham / James Hare

Hi folks

Wonder if you can help please. I have a James Hare b 1854/5 unsure where? Some censuses say Walsall, Staffs and others say Scarborough? He married Margaret Siddle in 1874 district Auckland, Durham. James's father is Joseph Hare, a labourer. I am trying to find a birth for James Hare. There are no births around that time in Yorkshire. But one in Walsall, Staffs....got this certificate and its incorrect as his father's name was George and the marriage cert states Joseph. I do have a copy of the marriage cert, witnesses were John and Jane Hare if that helps?

There is a James Hare b.1855 in Pickhill, Yorkshire parents Joseph Hare and Mary Ann but i found a death in 1862 for this James although unsure if this is correct?

I would really appreciate some expert advice on this problem.

Been ages since i posted on here and even done any research but....here goes....

I have Ann Mason b.1834 Bishop Auckland...i think ive found a marriage for her in 1856 Auckland 10a 162. I dont have a subscription to any sites and wanted to find out Ann's husbands name please.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / John Ward

Hi folks,

It's been years since I've done any genealogy so please bear with me. I've just re-started and done well so far just need a little help with my Wards.

I have Elizabeth Ward b. 1828 Tadcaster ( siblings, Jacob b.1831, Jane b.1835, Mary b.1840 and Hannah B. I. b.1843 found quite a lot on Hannah). Parents are John and Jane. John b. 1801 Jane b. 1806. Not sure of place of birth for parents and I'm searching for a marriage but no luck so far.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Durham Lookup Requests / The elusive Tom Jones!!

Hi folks,

Wonder if you can help me track down Thomas Jones. I have hardly any info on him but his son is William Jones b.1845 South Sheilds - wife Mary Jones, they had two children Ann Ellen b. 1869 Trimdon and Benjamin b.1872. See the two census's - RG10 pce 4911 fol 69 p.26 and RG11 pce 4904 fol 24 p.41

Marriage for William and Mary is Jun 1870 Auckland 10a 273. Mary's maiden name is Pearcy. William's father is stated as Thomas Jones and he was a Tailor.

I can't find any info prior to the above two census's and can't find a birth for William let alone Thomas! I'm wondering if William's birth place is incorrect on the census?

Any help would be most appreciated.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / George Haigh

Hi folks,

Would some kind folk please help me track down my George Haigh born approx. 1839ish in Marylebone, Middlesex. Parents are George senior and Sarah Haigh. Found them in the 1841/51 census but disappear in the 1861/71 census?? I'm having problems finding a marriage for George and Sarah??

George jnr b.1839 re-appears in the 1881 census with wife Elizabeth in Halifax, Yorkshire!! George is an accountant and they have children Chas. B, Mary L, Mary Ann and Walter (I'm following Walter's line thru to 1911 census). RG11 pce 4402 fol 18 p.29.

Where did they go in the 1861/71 census??

Lincolnshire Lookup Requests / Priscilla Hill, Leake, Lincs

Hi folks,

Please bear with me as not done any genealogy in a while but I'm hooked again!

Ok I'm on the search of my Hill's from Lincolnshire. Got back as far as Priscilla Hill b.1781 Leake, Lincs and d.1871 Boston. Her son is Joseph b.1821 Wrangle, Lincs - married Susannah (I think her maiden name is Baker?) in 1845, Boston Lincs.

Ok so I'm trying to find Priscilla's husband's name and dob etc. Can't find Priscilla on 1841 census on ancestry but I found Joseph but looks like he's not with his family.

Any help would be much appreciate

Hi folks,

Can anyone help me find the parents of James G Llewellyn born approx 1901/2 in Newcastle upon Tyne? Not much to go on I'm afraid just that he had a son James G Llewellyn b.1933 (now deceased) and he married an Evelyn M Shewin in 1929.

Just trying to get back a little further if poss. Any help would be much appreciated.
