Family History Beginners Board / 1891 census
« on: Friday 20 January 12 15:52 GMT (UK)  »
Dear Anyone,
I have been tracking my family but have hit a problem for the 1891 census.  I know that the family were in Penge area of London/Surrey in 1888 when a relation, one Vance Cole, was born.  Vance is such an unusual name that I think he was the only Vance Cole at the time.
However no data on a Vance Cole in 1891, or indeed other family members.  In 1901 they turn up again still in the same area.

Can anyone help?

Rutland / Rutland Research

Previously "diddymiller" answered a question I had on Ryhall in Rutland as he had access to the 1841 census for the village.  By any chance has anyone got access to the 1841 census for Tinwell, Rutland.  On search engines, people from there are listed as being at "Stamford Union" which makes searching tricky.  I don't understand why because Ryhall was under the Stamford Union as well, but they are listed as Ryhall.

I have tracked one family in Tinwell in 1841 with the name COLE but want to know if there are other families with the same surname at that time.

Slowbut sure.

Rutland / Cole Family in Ryhall, Rutland
« on: Saturday 19 November 11 15:18 GMT (UK)  »
I have tracked my family to Ryhall, Rutland in the 1841 census, the Head of Family was Samuel Cole (age 35) Agricultural Labourer.
However the print out of the page does not show a road etc.  Is this common or is it that it appears on the previous page perhaps.
Can anyone help on their location in Ryhall?

The reference is HO107/895 Bk 6 folio 10 pages 19 & 20

Thanks for any help
