Hi everyone

A friend has asked me to help him find a Heir Hunter firm as he has been appointed as the Administrator for a relative who has died Intestate.
Can anyone tell me the best way of finding a reputable company to help him?

The Lighter Side / WDYTYA DVDs
« on: Wednesday 05 October 11 23:13 BST (UK)  »
I was wondering if anyone has bought the DVDs for the last series of Who Do You Think You Are?

Can you tell me if the programmes featured on the DVD are exactly as shown on BBC-1 or if there is any unseen footage as "extras"?

Many thanks.
Regards
Shirley

I would be extremely grateful if some kind soul would do a look up for the marriage of Nathaniel EDDLESTON & Mary LITCHFIELD on 4th November 1866 at Houghton Conquest.
I would love to know the details in the marriage register.
Sincere thanks

Essex / Burial at Latchingdon in 1841
« on: Friday 28 January 11 22:25 GMT (UK)  »
Could anyone tell me which was the Parish Church of Latchingdon with Snoreham 25th September 1841?

I am trying to trace a burial for a Thomas LEWIN and I don't know which church to request a Look-Up for on the Look-Up Request Board.

I think it may be St Michael's but I don't want to waste anyone's time with the wrong request.
Many thanks,
Shirley

Leicestershire / Robert & Alice NEWEY burials at Ashby de la Zouch
« on: Thursday 02 September 10 12:21 BST (UK)  »
Hi.
I would be truly grateful if some kind soul could look up the the details of the following burials at Ashby de la Zouch, St Helen.

Robert NEWEY  2 June 1836

Alice NEWEY  21 April 1837

I found these burials on the NBI v3 but the entry is marked as "Unchecked" so if anyone has access to the microfilm/fiche of the original burial register and can verify it for me, it would be fantastic.
The Robert NEWEY (sometimes found as NEWLY etc) was an Excise Officer so if that was mentioned in the register entry, I will know I have the correct burials.

Thanks in advanced.
Regards, Shirley

Leicestershire / NEWEY burials at Ashby de la Zouch
« on: Saturday 10 July 10 12:31 BST (UK)  »
I would be very grateful if anyone who is going to Ashby de la Zouch Parish Churchyard could keep a look out for the burials of Robert NEWEY & Alice NEWEY.
They were buried in the 1830s (according to the NBI-3)and I need to link the two people together as I am hoping they are a married couple and the gravestone may show this.
Any other info from the gravestone would be very useful indeed.
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,
Shirley

Kent / Maud Flora WHITWORTH nee BAKER of Ramsgate
« on: Saturday 03 April 10 16:18 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to help a friend who is searching for what happened to Maud Flora WHITWORTH nee BAKER after 1911.

Maud was born in Ramsgate about 1883 to Richard BAKER a cabinet maker or upholsterer.
Maud married William Henry WHITWORTH in Rochdale, Lancashire in 1905 but by the 1911 Census, she was in Ramsgate with her father while William Henry was in Rochdale with Maud's brother Horace Richard BAKER, a police inspector.
William Henry WHITWORTH & Horace R. BAKER moved to Blackpool, Lancashire and both of them  married there.
William Henry WHITWORTH married in 1943 saying he was a widower but we have been unable to find Maud's death and haven't found any record of her emigrating. My friend is descended from William Henry's second wife.

I am hoping to find a burial for Maud in Ramsgate but it is a shot in the dark.
If anyone happens upon her burial we would be very grateful to hear about it.
Regards,
Shirley

Glamorganshire / WW1 soldiers' care home in Cardiff area?
« on: Thursday 29 October 09 14:30 GMT (UK)  »
Could anyone tell me if there was a care home or hospital in the Cardiff area for WW1 soldiers who suffered injuries/shellshock?
I believe my great uncle spent his life there and died in 1970.

Thank you in advance for any help.
