From Lancaster County (PA) Deed Abstracts, Deed Book A through M (1729 through 1770)

John Graham of Maddyroon, PA, died in Nov 1763, leaving will giving 200 pounds to his brothers and children of his brothers in Ireland. At the time of his death, he had three brothers living in Tullywinny, Loughgilly parish, Armagh County; George, Robert and James Graham. Another brother William had died 15 years ago in Tullywinny, leaving 7 children: James, William, George, Samuel, Robert, David and Agnes, all over 21. These heirs leave John Lockart of Mullaglass who is bound for NY to receive legacy.

My husband is descended from this family.

Tyrone / John Hetherington Thompson: Correction
« on: Monday 09 June 08 13:11 BST (UK)  »
John H. Thompson was baptized in 1832 in Kilskeery Church of Ireland. Parents were John H. Thompson and Elizabeth Armstrong Thompson, Drumsonnus, County Tyrone. Death Certificate in USA indicates birth as 1834.  In 1861 he married Rebecca Maria Wilson, daughter of Robert and Jane Wilson, Mullaghmeen, County  Fermanagh in the Magheracross Church of Ireland, Ballinamallard. Rebecca was baptized in this church in 1838. They migrated to Philadelphia via Liverpool and NYC in 1862. Any Hetherington connections on Roots Chat?

The parents of John H. Thompson were John Thompson and Elizabeth Hetherington, Ballindoulagh. They were married in the Church of Ireland in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh on 21 September 1826.

Tyrone / THOMPSON-ARMSTRONG
« on: Sunday 30 December 07 02:00 GMT (UK)  »
On December 28, 1884 Samuel Thompson, 34, Bachelor farmer, Drumsonnis, son of John Thompson, farmer, married Rebecca Armstrong, 27, Spinster, daughter of Joseph Armstrong, farmer Loughterush, Parish of Kilskeery, in the Parish Church of Ireland. Eliza Jane Armstrong and Edward Brien were Witnesses.

Is anyone researching these families from Kilskeery?

Wales / WILSON or THOMPSON
« on: Thursday 27 December 07 16:41 GMT (UK)  »
Anyone in Wales researching a Gwyneth Wilson or Thompson born in the late 1800s? I am a namesake for someone, but do not know where in Wales.

I recently learned that the Gwyneth given name may have been associated with the Irvine, Irwin or Moffatt surname. :)

Fermanagh / Robert and Jane WILSON, Magheracross
« on: Friday 28 September 07 18:12 BST (UK)  »
In 1838 Robert, a carpenter, and his wife Jane, Gortaloughan had their daughter, Rebecca baptized in the Magheracross Church of Ireland in Ballinamallard.  In 1861 when Rebecca married John H. Thompson, Drumsonnus, County Tyrone in the same church, Robert's residence was given as Mullaghmeen, County Fermanagh.  While I have later information about this Thompson marriage, I have no information about Robert and Jane Wilson. Is there anyone with access to Magheracross Parish records? Who are Rebecca's siblings, if any?  Is anyone researching this Wilson family?  Thank you for any help! :'(

Who was Robert Wilson's father? Was Jane an Irvine or Irwin? John and Rebecca Wilson Thompson named their firstborn son, Irwin William, but he sometime used Irvine William.
