« on: Saturday 04 February 17 22:44 GMT (UK)  »
Does anyone know if this is gaelic or latin? And where I might be able to get the whole Sasine translated for a reasonable fee.

Thank you

Midlothian / Hayfield House in West and Mid Calders I think its in Midlothian
« on: Saturday 04 February 17 22:14 GMT (UK)  »
I'm wondering if anyone lives in this area and has heard of this place. It was known as Hayfield before 1804 when it was renamed Harburn. I have found images of Harburn Estate and the new Harburn House built 1804 and a few references to Hayfield House that state it is just North of the New House but no images. I'm wondering if this place Hayfield House is still standing on the Harburn Estate, I have tried contacting Harburn House by email they have not responded and I have also sent an email to portalhistoricenvionment.scot. Beside suggesting Canmore which I can't access; they were not able to help much as I'm in Canada; not Scotland.

Any ideas on where else I might look or any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you and Cheers

East Lothian (Haddingtonshire) / Pittullo Death record
« on: Tuesday 14 April 15 20:26 BST (UK)  »
Hello all; I was wondering if anyone has any ideas as to where I can find a death record or grave for James Pittullo b. 1745 d. Oct 1795 in Dalkeith. I found his death announcement in an Edinburgh magazine, but I can't find a record or a grave. He was a very wealthy retired merchant sea captain with money to spare as he gave a lot of it away as listed in his Will. He was born in Elie, Fife, lived at Hayfield in West Calders, had property in East Calders and died in Dalkeith. I have checked Familysearch.org and Scotlandspeople and have had no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fife / The Elusive Pittullo's
« on: Tuesday 14 April 15 20:07 BST (UK)  »
Hello all; I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas where else a person might search. I have tried scotlandspeople, familysearch.org and fifefhs.org. I can't seem to find the birth records of my 4x GGF James Pittullo, his naturalization records say he was born in Elie, Fife or his sisters Helen or Agnes, probably born in Fife as well. They were all born between 1768-1785 their parents are James Pittullo I and Cecilia Baptisto. All names were found on James Pittullo I Will from 1796.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
