Carlow / Cannot find Joseph John Reilly in 1901 and 1911 census
« on: Sunday 10 April 22 12:44 BST (UK)  »
Joseph John REILLY was born 28 Dec 1880 in Montgomery Street, Carlow, as son of James Reilly (baker) and Ellen Deegan. I think (not sure!) he died as a bachelor on 30 Dec 1951 in Edenberry, Co. Offaly.
I can't find him in the 1901 and 1911 census. He is not with his parents in 1901 and 1911.
Can anyone of you find him in the censuses?

I seem to be unable to find the death of Arthur Stanley PEARCE, born 15 May 1908 Cardiff. He married  Phyllis Irene Norman on 21 Apr 1930 in Sully, Glamorganshire. After the death of Phyllis in 1963, he married Ellen Winifred Mary Ellis on 21 May 1977 Colwyn. This Ellen remarried on 30 Nov 1987 in South Glamorgan Dennis Arlwyn Jones. Thus, Arthur Stanley Pearce must have died between 1977 and 1987, but I cannot find him. Can you?

Lancashire Lookup Requests / Death sought for couple William Kane x Bridget O'Neil
« on: Saturday 05 March 22 18:43 GMT (UK)  »
I have been unable to find the death of the couple
William Kane (also Cain, Kean), bapt. RC 24-11-1823 in Newry, Co. Down, and
Bridget O'Neil (also O'Neal), bapt. RC 11-05-1829 Armagh, Co. Armagh.
They married on 18-10-1844 in Newry, Co. Down.
The couple had seven children, as follows:
Anne, bapt. RC 14-02-1847 Clonallen, Do. Down
Anne, bapt. RC 01-01-1849 Clonallen, Co. Down
Thomas, bapt. RC 27-07-1850 Clonallen, Do. Down
James, bapt. RC 25-06-1854 Liverpool (St Patrick)
Rose Ann, bapt. RC 13-04-1856 Liverpool (St Patrick)
John, bapt. RC 03-05-1858 Clonallen, Do. Down
Alice, born 24-01-1861 West Derby, Lancashire.

I find the couple, as lodgers, without children, in the 1851 census in Toxteth Park, West Derby, Liverpool. William is carpenter.
I find the couple, with five children, in the 1861 census in 35 Fisher Street, Toxteth Park, West Derby, Liverpool. William is ship joiner.
In the 1871 census, I find at 29 Fisher Street, Toxteth Park, West Derby, Liverpool, mother Bridget with the children James, Rose Ann, John and Alice.
In the original census form, the word "wife" is crossed out after Bridget Cain's name. No mention is made of her husband (nor of her being a widow).
I do not find William in 1871 or later.

I have been unable to find death dates that fit these data for William and Bridget. Any help will be highly appreciated. (I searched in ancestry, FindMyPast and rootsireland.ie, without success.)

I have been trying in vain to find the death of my ancestor Thomas REILLY. He was baptized RC on 01 Jan 1822 in St Alban's RC Church in Doonane Parish, Co. Laois. He married Margaret Brennan on 30 Sep 1846. She was baptized on 01 Sep 1824 in Graiguecullen/Killeshin Parish, and died 24 Feb 1889, townland Drumagh, SRD Carlow, RD Ballickmoyler, Co. Queens. Thomas Reilly, the widower, is the informant on her death certificate.

I have the marriage certificate of Edward Charles SEEGER and Jessie MANLEY, who married on 14 March 1875 in Bethnal Green. The address of the man is given as "3 31 Wellington House" and of the wife as "8 4 ditto". The couple had two children prior to this marriage: Edward, born 1869 Bethnal Green, and Jessie, born 1874 Bethnal Green. After their marriage, they got 5 more children.

I was wondering whether any of you know what Wellington House was. I do not see it in the listings of Poor Houses. Thank you for any suggestion what accommodation this pair lived in.

« on: Monday 13 December 21 12:08 GMT (UK)  »
The couple Arthur Fegan (also spelled Fagan) and Catharine McClory married on 18-10-1839 in Newry, Co. Down. They get 13 children: first four in Annaghlone, Co Down (1841-1845), then four in Liverpool (1847-1854), and finally five in  Kilcoo, Co. Down.
I have found RC baptism records for all but one: Arthur, named after his father, who according to the census record of 1871 was born circa 1852 in Liverpool. Her married 8 July 1872 in Liverpool with Elizabeth Downes. Any help in finding the birth or baptism of this Arthur will be greatly appreciated.
