Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Recommendation on DNA testing

Wondering if anyone has used a company called CRI Genetics? I have used Ancestry DNA for my tree, however my son is interested in taking a DNA test to be able to look at both paternal and maternal side. He's interested in the history side of things as well as family tree, which is pretty much established on both sides. I googled and found this CRI which also includes traits and health as well as history but am seeing mixed reviews for the company.

I'm open to other suggestions if anyone has other views on sites they've used.

Not sure if this is the right area to post this but lets give it a go!

Edward married 1st -Eleanor and they are my 22nd grandparents and that is stated on both my Family Tree Maker software and my Ancestry tree.
Edward married 2nd - Margaret and they produced another line making her also my 22nd grandmother. However on both trees she is down as wife to my 22nd grandfather, their son is stated as a grand uncle but his daughter is down as a great grandmother!

Anyone know how I can change Margaret's relationship to me? I've looked everywhere and googled unsuccessfully.

US Lookup Requests / 1850 United States Federal Census lookup

I wonder if someone would be kind enough to look up the household of Adam Temple b1791 in the UK but living in Niagara, New York, USA in 1850. I'm particularly interested in James Temple aged 90. As James was his father but my info was that he died in 1842 so wondering if I've got that wrong.

United States of America / Family name Tulip in Ohio

Hello

My great great grandparents John and Elizabeth (nee Laverick) Tulip went from the UK to States settling in Jefferson, Ohio for the period (roughly) 1864-1874. I found the birth records of my great grandfather, James (Jamie) born in Steubenville in 6 Oct 1872 but I cannot find any of his siblings as listed below. Likewise I can't give exact dates of their arrival in the US or subsequent departure.

I would greatly appreciate if anyone might be able to find some information that could firm up their births and any potential deaths in the States. I have all records in the UK.

William Friend Tulip b1867
Martha Tulip b1870

US Lookup Requests / Pennslyvania - Ottley

Wonder if anyone can throw any light on a Frederick Ottley born in the UK in the 1875.

He travelled from England to Montreal 2 Oct 1903 on the Dominion. He ends up in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and dies there in 1941. HIs wife Jane goes to Canada Nov. 1904 and then comes back to the UK April 1905. (as Mrs J OTTLEY).

I am wondering if there are any divorce records between Fred and Jane or if Fred remarried.

Durham / Tulip Toft marriage help

My great grandfather James Tulip married in Sept 1919 Jane Toft nee Alderson. They were both widowed and in their 40s. Her father was Joseph Alderson, as on their marriage certificate from Easington registry office.

I have searched high and low to find out about Janes previous marriage, even though she isn’t related but more out of curiosity and in the hope of finding children from her first marriage, to no avail.

Wonder if anyone can shed any light on her.

Durham / Two John Tulips - Help!!!

I have John Tulip
Throckley Black Row Born November 25th 1805 Baptised January 26th 1806 1st son of William Tulip pitman native of Ovingham Parish by his wife Margaret Bones native of Lanchester

and John Tulip
4 Dec 1808 Jno Tulip of High Felling, born 12 Oct, 2nd son of William Tulip (collier, native of Ovingham) & Margaret Barnes [Bones] (native of Lanchester, daughter of Thomas Barnes)

One of them is my 3xgreat grandfather but as I can't find a death for the one in 1805 and the 1808 one is abbreviated, I'm wondering which one could be the right one!! I have John throughout the census (date of birth vary) and his death in 1863 which puts his age as 58.

Other Countries / O'Connor - Bermuda

I'm researching a family tree where the ancestors come from Bermuda. Obviously my resources are limited and I would value some help, if anyone is able to.

I have Granville Ivan O'Connor who was born in 1924 to Cecil Cambell O'Connor & Annie E Stowers. Cecil b 1893 to Frederick James O'Connor and possibly a Lavinia Burchall.

I found Cecil's father from his WW1 records but would like to be able to find out anything about Frederick if possible. I have Annie's tree, she and Cecil married in 1917 in England.
