Armed Forces / Gibson Military Scotland 1500's 1600's

I am looking for a military officer last name Gibson. First names that run in the family are, Alexander, William, James, Thomas. Alexander Gibson in Ireland possibly in (Raphoe) (Ulster) would be his son maybe grandson. Alexander had a son James Gibson fought in the battle of Londonderry 1689. Guessing that this military officer would have been born somewhere around 1600 give or take.  He came from near Glasgow.
