Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Triffhit or Treafhit
« on: Friday 05 February 10 15:00 GMT (UK)  »
I have just found out that my gggrandfather was married to an Ann Triffhit/Treafit and would love to find out more information on the family. My gggrandfather was Thomas Parker b 1827 in Shipton, York. I would also like to find out his mother's maiden name as I have hit a brick wall on her too. His father was Francis Parker.

Would be grateful for any help whatsoever.

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Grosert
« on: Thursday 19 June 08 12:31 BST (UK)  »
I have just been looking up the marriage of my great uncle John (Jack) Richard de Frates, trying to find out the surname of his wife (Meg as she was known), I can only find that he married someone with the name of GROSERT in September 1917 in York but nothing else comes to light and I am not sure if this is correct or not.

Can anyone help please?

Kent / Ravensdales & Boreham families??
« on: Thursday 30 March 06 11:36 BST (UK)  »
I am trying to trace any information on the Ravensdale and Boreham families. My husband is a Ravensdale and his father was the son of James Ravensdale (b. 1868 at Ipstone st, Staffs) and he married (we think they married) ???  :-[, Harriet/Hetty Ma(r)y Boreham (b. 1882 London).

James was the son of Thomas and Eliza Jemima Ravensdale who lived in Staffordshire. Hetty was a school teacher in Ramsgate and we know that the Ravensdales moved to Sittingbourne but not the date.

Can anyone help please?

Yorkshire (East Riding & York) / Gutherless family York or Bridlington?
« on: Wednesday 15 March 06 18:03 GMT (UK)  »
My maternal grand mother was a Gutherless but we are not sure if she was born in York as my mother and her sisters can't remember ever being told anything about the family.  I believe grandmothers father's name was Tom and her mother was Elizabeth but have no more knowledge on the ggrandparent side.

Grand mother's name was Grace Gutherless she had an older sister Annie and 2 brothers, Edwin and France. Sadly Frank died in WW1, we have visited his grave as we found where he was buried from the War Graves Commission.

If anyone can help with my search I would be grateful, Grace married William Wilson and they had a farm in Elvington York. 4 children, Frank, Dorothy (my mother) Nancy & Monica.  William died when he was 42 in 1935 and grandmother married John Coupland who was the saddler in Elvington.

I am really at a brick wall on this one having gone back to the 1600s with my fathers family too this is so frustrating  ???
