World War One / Arthur Holmes from Castleford Distinguished Conduct Medal winner

My friend at work as asked me if I can find out anything about his Great Grandfather Arthur Holmes born Castleford 1888 and died in Castleford 1963 he told me his Grandfather had won a Distinguished Conduct Medal in World War One. I think I found his medal card his service number was S/3129  but there is a UK Citations of the Distinguished Conduct Medal 1914-1920 that I cannot see I think it is the same man I could tell my friend what his Great Grandfather won the medal for.

Any help would be much appreciated Tony

The Mother and Father in Law on holiday in New Brighton Merseyside in 1951  so could you please  remove the scratches and give it a tidy up.

We got the photo off the Wifes cousin it was taken about 1950 we had never seen the photo before and the wife as no photos of her Mum and Dad when they were young they have both died so any improvement in the photo would be much appreciated

Would anybody be kind enough to do me a look up for Thomas Dorsey Gospel in the national probate calendar he died in 1925 his death was registered at Pocklington, Yorkshire all the details included would be sincerely welcomed.

Fenton Battye was born in Shepley Yorkshire in 1846 and married Carry Lord in 1879 at Kirkburton All Hallows Yorkshire.It looks like he went to America before 1880 but he must have returned before 1899 as he was buried at  Shepley St Paul Yorkshire on the 23rd of December 1899.
Any information on Fenton in America and how he got there and when he came back would be welcome.
All I know about Carry is from the Marriage record she was born about 1854 and her Father was William his occupation was a Farmer.

I believe my Great Grandmother is listed on the National Probate Calendar and wandered if anyone would be kind enough to do a look up for me.
Her name was Jane Chambers and she died in Castleford Yorkshire on the 22 January 1957 any information would be great.

I have my friends Great Grandmother Ellen Clift born Chesterfield about 1878 in Wakefield prison in 1901 and I would like to know what crime she committed to be there.
