Armagh / Carey's & McConnell's
« on: Monday 23 November 09 04:54 GMT (UK)  »
I'm really struggling to find any info. on Matthew Carey (b) Armagh 1834 (I also suspect he may have been born in Hampshire, Eng) parents David Carey and Lucretia McConnell.  Matthew came to Australia then New Zealand, and back to Australia again.

If anyone can point me to the most likely web pages I'd be very grateful.

Cornwall / DAW(E)
« on: Friday 05 June 09 23:56 BST (UK)  »
I'm trying to find census and/or birth of John Daw CA 1835 father possibly William.  John married Grace Body in Liskeard in 1854 and sailed straight away to Aust.  On his death cert. mentions birth as Devon and a 2nd marriage cert. says birth Cornwall.  I have a possibility of an 1851 census record in Southhill but don't know how to confirm this as him and family.

If anyone can offer help would be much appreciated.

Cornwall / Basset Hotel, Redruth

I'm looking for any info on the above Hotel where my GGGGrandfather died in 1879.  There was
also a mention of a Basset Street on the 1871 Census I'm guessing they're connected.

Cheers

Cornwall Completed Lookup Requests / TREWREN/WILLIAMS/TROON - Ludgvan
« on: Sunday 28 December 08 06:43 GMT (UK)  »
Please someone I need help, I'll start from the beginning.

Richard Taylor Williams married Jennifer Trewren at Ludgvan on 22/1/1842, on the 1851 census is stated a Jane Troon 84 years, visitor, I assume it is her grandmother, or is that my first mistake?  So on IGI and other sources, I find good reference to Jennifer Troon & Joseph Trewren married 16/7/1803.  Then on Jennifers birth certificate of 18/10/1803 at Ludgvan, it states her father as John Trewren but I'm finding nothing to connect apart from Joseph.  Do I have the wrong birth certificate?  Can a kind soul please tell me what I am missing. :(

Many thanks

« on: Thursday 13 November 08 23:34 GMT (UK)  »
If anyone will be going to the above cemetery are you able to take a photo of the grave site of John Trewren Williams reference number 34562 dated 19/2/1899, section GEN, grave number 66.  There is also an Elizabeth Hamilton (previous Williams) in the same grave buried 23/12/1912.

Much appreciated.
