Donegal / baptism 1850 David Fleming Ireland
« on: Friday 21 August 20 13:00 BST (UK)  »
Hi all
I have posted about this family before namely David's sister Elizabeth Fleming. I have all details I need for Elizabeth and her families.
I am now revisiting as I am trying to trace David's descendants but am having difficulty in finding his baptism. My uncle in 1976 when starting the family tree had David as being born in 1850. Elizabeth was baptised in 1852 in Loughross Tullyaughnish Co.Donegal.  father John Fleming mother Margaret (Thompson). I cannot find David's baptism.
Online records have changed a lot since I originally found this a very very long time ago so would be grateful for any tips on where to look.
Thank you.

Lanarkshire / Humphries merchant seaman 1911 census.
« on: Thursday 05 March 20 17:26 GMT (UK)  »
HI
I am looking for my grandparents in 1911 census. Lilian Humphries nee Davison(Davis) and Herbert Daniel Humphries. my grandmother would have been about 8months pregnant with her first child (David George Cecil Humphries) who was born on 23 May 1911 in Govan Lanark,  Clutha Street.
I have searched for them in the  England and wales 1911 census for years with no result on Ancestry, FindMyPast and numerous FHS groups etc. I've searched on Scotland census with no result also.
I have them on every other census before they were married which was in West Derby 3rd Jan 1910.
As she was 8 months pregnant in the April I am assuming she wouldn't have travelled far. Also there may be relatives living in Glasgow as her older sister was born in Hutchenstown in 1874, this is the only link I have of her family to Glasgow. Lilian was mostly brought up in Liverpool and I have all those census.
My grandfather worked on ships a lot so was wondering if he may have been on one at the time , but he was back in Govan on his first child's birth as he is the informant on the registration of the birth. He was a wireless operator. I have searched ships but not thoroughly as not sure on the best way.
I have previously posted on here in other groups on my grandparents history over the years and received a lot of help. I don't know how to link to those posts but under my username of madyliz.
I would appreciate any pointers as to where to look now.
thank you Liz

Ireland / Elizabeth White Davis birth wanted approx 1841
« on: Saturday 09 March 19 16:55 GMT (UK)  »
Hi all
I have been looking for the births of Elizabeth White Davis prob born 1841
Mary Davis b 1839
Joseph Davis b 1817?
I have records of Joseph from when he married Elizabeth Fleming in 1870 and I have her birth in Donegal in 1852
I have previously put topics on roots chats about Elizabeth and joseph and have most of the details of their lives after they were married, so I don't need any of those records .
I have returned to Joseph to try and find his birth and that of his sisters  to no avail.
My uncle first recorded them on a family tree back in 1976 and he was able to talk to older relatives who are now passed away. A lot of his info as to where people lived I have discovered was wrong ie: he had Elizabeth born in Burbank Glasgow which was wrong as I found her in Donegal.
I am hoping as Josephs sister has a middle name it may be easier to trace her but I have not had any luck. I have searched records across the UK,
so any pointers as to where I can look next I would be eternally grateful
thank you
Liz
