Down / Heaney and Dargan Family Magheralinn and Taughlumney
« on: Friday 03 August 18 14:22 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I would be grateful for any help on my paternal grandmothers side of the family. She was Catherine Heaney, daughter of Richard Heaney b 1856 Magherlinn and Catherine Dargan b1855 Taughlumney Near Moira Co Down.
Richard was the son of James Heaney a farmer. I have found his marriage to Charlotte Gorman in August 1852, but it appears on the record that this is his second marriage . I cannot make out the surname of his first wife or the year, except April..and the marriage was in Aghgallon.  When I go to the National Library microfilms it will not bring up marriage records for me.
I am using an old iPad so when I go to Family Search although I joined my browser does not seem to be up to date to search this site.
Any help would be appreciated.

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / 1963 Dad and Uncle
« on: Monday 19 August 13 14:57 BST (UK)  »
I would very much appreciate if this photograph of my father and my uncle, could be improved and brightened, to be made a bit clearer.
Also, if possible, I would appreciate two versions, one of the entire photo, and one of just the man in the blue shirt with the horse.
Thank you very much
Lucy

Hoping this photo will upload after many 'error' messages.  Am following advice and renaming it.  I would be very grateful for a restoration.  I would love a restoration of the whole photo, and also if possible, just a close up of the lady holding the baby.
Many thanks
Lucy

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / difficulty uploading photo
« on: Saturday 13 July 13 18:57 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I have uploaded photos to this site before, and had wonderful restorations done for me.
Today I tried to upload two more black and white 1950's photos, both separately and together.  When I try to post I am getting a message saying 'error' - there is a file of that name already recognised, and also telling me only jpg etc.  Trouble is I have already checked that I have scanned it in as a jpg, so am puzzled as to what the trouble is ?
Any advice would be welcome
Thanks
Lucy

Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / just a quick question..
« on: Thursday 04 July 13 13:20 BST (UK)  »
Hello
I would be grateful if someone could advise on scanning in small black and white photos that need restoration.  The 'Cazza's tutorial above has been very helpful. It says scan at 600 dpi if possible, for better results.  My scanner will offer to scan at 1200 dpi, am wondering if this is better?
Thanks
Lucy
