Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Love Post Card from France
« on: Thursday 05 November 20 23:44 GMT (UK)  »
Hi Brigidmac
My grandmother was born in London, England.  She met my Canadian Grandfather either in France where he was wounded and she was serving in the WAAC there or when he recuperated in England.  She travelled to Canada in 1919 and married him in Edmonton, Alberta in Dec, 1919.  They had 3 daughters one of whom was my mother.
I do not have the letters :(.  I wish I did!

Hi
I am doing a write up for Remembrance Day. This post card was sent from my grandmother to my grandfather. I am having difficulty deciphering  her handwriting.

Thank you for hep you can provide.

She was born 09-21-1877 St Pancras, London, England. Her birth was registered 1877
She was baptized with her brother William Thomas (born 04-08-1880 )on 04-25-1880.
I wonder why she put her age down as 40 when in fact she was 42   ;) ???.

Thank you so much.  I just couldn't make anything out of it.   What I am trying to do is find what happened to them after they married. Because they were married in Manitoba I wrote to their Vital Statistics and got the copy of their marriage licence.    Jane was a war bride that came to Canada with her sister, my grandmother Florence Brooker from England in 1919.  My grandmother married Leslie Trenholm in Edmonton on Dec 5, 1919.  Since both Jane and her husband were older I assume they didn't have children  I correspond with a second cousin in England and he said no one really knows what became of her after she married.  I can't seem to find them on the 1921 census, but they should be on the census somewhere in Canada.  I was trying to find out if they where they might be buried.  No luck yet, but I am a very amateur sleuth ;) :)

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Malcolm McCrimmon's mothers maiden name
« on: Saturday 27 April 19 03:38 BST (UK)  »
This is the wedding registration of my great aunt Jane Elizabeth Fanny Brooker's marriage to Malcolm Donald McCrimmon.  I am trying to figure out his mothers maiden name.  I think her first name is Sarah. Can anyone help me with her last name?  Thank you.

Would it be possible for someone to take away the black and white checked dress and shoe on Pauline's right? Also if it's possible to shade the bright area to Oscars left.
They were my husband's grandparents.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you to
Trishanne, loord74, japeflakes for the excellent job you did on my request.  They are all great. My next job (and it will be hard ;)) is to decide which ones to use! :)
Cheers
Sandra
