Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Re: Family of John Peck(e) - Little Barford - 1680 to 1700

I think you are correct. There is a christening of Elizabeth Bettam at Little Barford on 7 Nov 1661 - parents Robert and Elizabeth. No siblings that I could find.

Bedfordshire Lookup Requests / Family of John Peck(e) - Little Barford - 1680 to 1700

I am trying to trace the above. I have found the following (all children of John and Abigail Peck(e)):
Elizabeth Pecke   C: 28 Aug 1687
Margaret Pecke   C: 17 Feb 1689
Abigail Peck   C: 5 Oct 1690
John Pecke   C: 30 Dec 1692
Ann Peck      C: 18 Aug 1695   Born: 5 Aug 1695
Mary Peck      C: 6 Feb 1697   Born: 6 Feb 1697

Also the following burials:
Abigail Peck   B: 31 Oct 1699   wife of John Peck   carpenter
John Peck   B: 21 Nov 1699   carpenter

However the only marriage I can find is:
John Pecke   M: 21 Jun 1686   Elizabeth Bettam   (John Pecke Carpenter)

How likely is it that Elizabeth became Abigail!

Huntingdonshire Lookup Requests / Re: Woodham of Stow Longa c1820

After a long break I am back on the trail of my family. One anomaly is in the death/burial of Elizabeth (nee Summerling/Summerland). The death certificate shows she died in Jan - Mar quarter 1849 aged 51; the burial entry at Stow Longa shows she was buried on 5 Jan 1849 aged 66!

Thanks for your reply. I didn't realise they were from different sources. As you say it would seem unlikely that the register will show any difference. I will have to try to crack it another way.

I am trying to trace the above baptism. However I am confused as IGI and Ancestry have only one William Salt here in this time period - William Salt christened 15 Sep 1661 parents John and Francis. However Find My Past has this William as well as a second christened 7 Jan 1665 parents William and Winnyfride. Does anyone have access to the actual register to resolve this issue? Thanks David

That is exactly what I think although it would be nice to find a christening of Sarah. John Wilkins and the rest of his siblings were christened at Irchester Wesleyan chapel. I cannot find any christenings for John and Susan's children.
I have birth certificates for Ellen (mother formerly WILKINS) and Emily (mother formerly WHITE) The person who notified both was William MILLER father.

Thank you.
The 1851 census shows a Sarah Ann White in Sheep Street Wellingborough as a Domestic servant and Born in Irchester. Unfortunately the 1861 census for Irchester seems to be missing but in 1861 and 1871 William and Sarah were in Higham Ferrers. Sarah died in 1875 buried at Higham Ferrers

This is where it all gets very confusing. My grandmother's birth certificate gives her mother's name as Sarah Ann Miller formerly WILKINS. The birth certificate of my grandmother's sister shows formely WHITE. From census records Sarah Ann had 6 children with William MILLER (married Sarah Ann WHITE 3 May 1859 St Sepulchre, Northampton). Of these 6 children the GRO shows mother's maiden name to be (in chronological order) WHITE, WHITE, WILKINS, WILKINS, WHITE, WILKINS!!!

Thanks. Yes the census was my starting point. I believe that Sarah Wilkins was my great grandmother (d of Susan White who married John Wilkins). I cannot find her birth/christening anywhere although I think she was born in Irchester, Northants where John and Susan married. I suspect she was born before they married.
