Hi
I am attempting to write my family history and I was trying to find details of what the area was like around Bridge Street, West Side, Bedwellty around the 1830s.   I cant find any maps.  Also, in 1851 census the street Watchmaker's row was mentioned.
Any info and or link to find maps of these areas would be great.
I am in Australia.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Ray
Thanks for pointing out the two William Bryants - I will have to look again at these and correct it.
Also, even though the notes that I have mentioned that four of the Bryant brothers came to Australia on the Canaan, according to the passenger list there was only David and Evan with their families.  Both Morgan and Samuel had came out earlier on apparently.
Thanks again for your comments.

Thank you so much for this Mabel.  It is unbelievable how helpful people in this group are.
David is my great great grandfather with Evan being his older brother.  Fantastic.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and hope the New Year brings you much happiness.

Hi.  My great great uncle Evan Bryant married Lydia Andrews.  His parents were Morgan and Catherine (nee Watkins) Bryant.  I have info that they came out to Australia on the ship Canaan in 1863.  The passenger list states Andrew and Catherine after their names and I am presuming these were their children.  Now I have been told that Catherine passed away before they came to Aust.  This led me to try and find out if maybe they had another daughter and also named her Catherine.  Is there any way I can find this out?

Other names on the passenger list was his brother David and his wife and two children.

Hi Kim
I made the mistake of typing in my email address and the moderator deleted it.  I am not sure if the complete posting would have also been deleted or not.
I thanked you for your reply and wondered how you found that John and Margaret were siblings?  If they are, it certainly puts another perspective out there.

Cheers
Dot

Thankyou for your reply Kim.   I have seen that entry before, but ignored it as I didn't think John was married when he came out.  Also, I thought there was an infant that travelled with them.  I didn't dream that maybe it was his sister.  He did have a sister 2 yrs younger.  Wow!  When you say that it appears to be his sister , how did you find that out?

Kind Regards
Dot
