WW1 In Memoriam / 8th April 1916, Edward Dawson Age 28, RFA 46th Bat 39th Bde
« on: Monday 23 January 17 07:08 GMT (UK) »
Corporal 69560 memorial Noeux-les-Mines, France. He was noted as a gunner but he was also a shoeing smith. He was from Preston in Lancashire.
Edward married my Grandmother Lucy Drake in 1912 and had two sons. When Edward died my grandmother was 26 and her sons aged 2 & 3 years old. She kept a photo of the grave in France and I also have letters which they wrote to each other when they were courting. So sad. Lucy did remarry and had two daughters one of which was my mother.
