Hi Lesley,
Would you be the daughter of Mr and Mrs Tomkins? who lived in "The Priory" 1977-81.
I'm very glad to hear from you and to learn that Mrs Dyson had many documents relating to the Priory and its foundation in 1166. Would you know where they are now?
I believe her husband R A Dyson bought the house in 1947 and lived there for the rest of his life.
I think her son Tim Dyson may still be alive and living in the area. Do you have his contact details?
Best wishes
Keith

Amazing stuff Rosie and Kay!!
Thank you so much - i am descended from Joseph Hodgson Wilson (1847-1927) who was later an Engine Smith at HM Dockyard Portsmouth.
Was it legal to marry your brothers widow??

I have traced my direct male line back to Jonathan who appears in the 1841 census age 30 at 66 Chorley St Little Bolton with his wife Agnes and family. He appears to have died before 1851 as Agnes is now a widow age 37 and a dressmaker employing 3
I would love some help or advice on how to go back further :) or just to flesh out his story. Could he have been an engineer in the local mills?
Were they married c1835 locally? Was Agnes born in Heysham, Lancs as the 1851 census is a little unclear!

Can anyone shed any light on the death of James Warren (her father).
I have looked on the Jersey Heritage site and cannot see it but the 1851 census for Jersey clearly shows Harriet l Warren as a widow so he must have died 1849-1851, There are some deaths in London around that date but none that look certain

Just been on the Jersey heritage link you gave - wonderful, as you say they are both there and James's occupation is given as Teacher in 1843 and Accountant in 1849 which probably goes some way to explaining there temporary residence on Jersey.

I've been on Ancestry screwing up my eyes to decode the addresses and her's seems to be Chad's Place which i think was her fathers address in 1841 and William's "occupation" may read "Dead" or "Deceased"
What is the SKS you refer to?

Jerripedia seems to have drawn a blank so maybe they just did not register Angeletta or moved back to London first

Thanks thats very interesting KGarrad and Wozzle. At least i now know James Warrens fathers name! Did the marriage record disclose any addresses for either party as i'm struggling to understand why they went to Jersey.
I will try Jerripedia for the baptism - perhaps that may shine some light

I am stumped in trying to trace my tree! Angeletta was born in St Helier c1849 according to the 1851 census and i believe her parents to be James Warren and Harriet Letitia Ryall who were married in London in 1841. As Harriet was a widow by 1861 and back in London i am struggling to uncover anything about her husband James and his ancestry. Any help would be great :)
