The Common Room / Need some advice please
« on: Saturday 11 November 17 02:58 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,
I need some advice please on how this would be done. Some in my Family said I should help people in Family history and charge them for service.

Question is:

How would one charge people in exchange for helping them find an Ancestor and Genealogy Documents? I not talking about a professional genealogist but someone private who help people with their Genealogy Research (finding their Ancestor, Documents, et,c.) in exchange for Money?

How would you do that or where would you begin? How would it be done?

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Possible NPE?
« on: Wednesday 24 May 17 03:56 BST (UK)  »
There may have been NPE in my tree with a Great-Great Grandfather on the Maternal side.

Many years ago My Grandpa First Cousin told his Aunt that her Father (My 2nd Great-Grandfather) Real Father was someone else. She got mad and kick him out.

Based on my research and findings I have to kind of wondered if it was true at times.

My 2nd Great-Grandfather father died either when he was 4 days old or several months befoe. Some places say he died a whole 3 Years before Four days after the birth of his Brother. We can find very little information on his father. we can not find a Death record and we are not sure exactly where he died and where he buried as there conflict information within out Family branch.

Though this DNA Match on My Grandpa Matches (they are also on His Mother and shows up on his first Cousin once removed) which I had never really paid much attention to until last week. This person had s a high DNA match with my Great-Grandmother (On Gedmatch it shows 151 CM with highly likely on ancestry)

Me and this User of have exchanged several Messages past few days. It was her Husband who took the Test before he died. her Husband Tree does not have surnames from Great-Grandmother Paternal Side. He also has relatives (including Great-Grandfather) who came to my State 5 years before my Great-Great grandfather was born in the same state.

I wonder how there a way to prove or disprove NPE that far back in the tree.

Another thing there are no Matches on Mine, Grandpa, Great-grandmother or Grandpa First Cousin Once Removed with the surname of 2nd great-Grandfather on their tree.

Yes would like help still looking for the Family Bible. Ragnhild Olson was born in 1874 in Minnesota. Torger did come in late1850s or early 1860s.

Ancestral Family Tree DNA Testing / Questions about AncestryDNA Test

I wonder if this suppose to be Scandinavian? I don't have any Russian or Finish Ancestors going back 200 Years at least. But this is quit a bit

My Maternal Grandfather maternal Grandmother is mainly Norwegian with 1/8 German and possible some Irish. My Maternal Grandmother maternal Grandfather was 50% Swedish.

Scandinavian does not show up on my DNA Results like it does on my Grandpa which came back with 40% but it does show Northwest Russia/Finland as a Trace Region but only 3%. His Mom my Great Grandmother also shows that as a Trace Region with 3% and her results came back with 40% Scandinavian.

I have not gotten My Maternal Grandma AncestryDNA Results back yet.
