My 2nd great grandfather, George Anson, born 1813, Gateforth, Yorksire, died 28th July 1876,
Married Sarah Ogley, at Ackworth, Yorkshire, on 19th Dec. 1839.
According to the Banns, & marriage solemnization documents, George was a widower.
I cannot find any records of his previous wife.

It very well could be right. The place, date and the name Hannah are right.
I have come across the name 'Anson' being misspelt on many occasions

I am having difficulty tracing the marriage of George Anson born 1786 in Brayton,Yorks.  died 1846, Yorks. and Hannah ? born abt. 1790 in Haddlesey, Yorks. died 1864, in Selby, Yorks.
I keep getting hints of a Hannah Siswick Marrying a George Hanson 1800 at Horbury, Yorks. but it can't be right as the name, area, and dates don't work out (George would have only been 14)
Any help would be appreciated.

I am struggling to find details of the death, or any burial information for Robert Cronshaw born 1856 in Clayton Le Moor, Lancashire.
I know from his Will that he died 15th October 1936 at the Municipal Hospital, Burnley.
Any information would be appreciated.

I am sure you know but the Neville name has impacted on the history of England in particular with the various family members holding titles of all kinds

The Neville ancestral homes being Raby Castle and Warwick Castle.

Worth pursuing if anyone finds a Neville surname in their own family history.

My Wife has Eleanor, sister to The Kingmaker in her direct family line and I have Katherine.

Hi Colin

Neville is on my maternal side of the family. My mother always said that she was connected to the Neville's of Raby Castle and The Kingmaker, I just haven't been able to find the link yet.

On my paternal side. I think that I have traced the Stickland's (my grandmothers name) back to Agnes Parr, my 14th great grandmother

I join the Strickland family with Ellen, but the Stricklands go back at least to the 1100’s.  The Ancestral home being Sizergh Castle which is just south of Kendal. Sir Thomas Strickland was the standard bearer at Agincourt and the success there did wonders for the families standing.

Kendal is also home of the Parr’s and Agnes Parr was a Great Aunt of Catherine Parr wive of Henry VIII but once into the Parr’s you can go back to Royalty.

A couple of generations since Agnes and there is Katherine Neville and following her line through Ward, Gasgoine we get back into the Neville’s then the De Ferrers to Joan Beaufort, daughter of John OGaunt and son of King Edward III.

I have now traced the Stricklands back to William De Strickland 1242 -1305

It's his first wife that was born in Sheffield. Daughters named Marjorie and Adelina would suggest that this is the right person.

Here is Robert's death notice with details of second marriage: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS7R-KPFC?cc=2573604&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AQPH4-8PBG

Thank's Shaun I obviously didn't look at it properly

Hi Cathy,
Robert Morton Neville, is the wrong Robert Neville, The Robert I am looking for was definitely born in Wistow, West Yorkshire, not Sheffield.

Thanks anyway.
