Thanks for having a go Lones. Sorry about the scan. I know you are all very talented and clever because I've seen a lot of the good work you do. Next time I'll try to borrow the pictures and scan them myself. Don't think they'll let me have them though which is a shame. :-\

Thanks very much jc, great work.
It was a family member who scanned the photos and emailed them to me, so I had no idea what the dpi was. Sorry about that.
Thanks again for your time and effort, much appreciated.

Hi, I have had  two photographs emailed to me by a relative so I don't know what dpi they have been scanned at.  They have both turned out really badly, but are important photographs.   One is my mum, her sisters and their dad who was killed in the pit soon after the photo, and the other is my great grandparents.
If anyone can help make them presentable it would be very much appreciated. I will post them separately.
Thanks in advance

Lanarkshire / Baptized by the fires
« on: Wednesday 05 September 07 13:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi, A cousin was searching for family in New Monkland in the FHL and came across this entry - The child who was laid down at John Walkers dorre in Keysburn in this parish on the 28th of April 1861, was baptized by the fires at Hamilton on the 13th of August 1865 by the name of Mary Munkland.
Does this mean they have burned her to death or branded her or something else?
It sounds very ominous whatever it is.
Thanks
Anne Marie
