I am inquiring about Sir Edward Richard Henry, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police (London) and fingerprint pioneer.  He was born in 1850 in Shadwell, London.  His parents were Irish and his father was a doctor.  He died in 1931 and was buried in the cemetery of All Souls Church, South Ascot, Berkshire.  Does any member know from what part of Ireland did his parents originate?

Moderator:  Can you please move message to an appropriate site?  I have attempted to send it "All" and your good self and I am informed the Inboxes are full.

Many thanks

Seán (Son of Lugh).

Hello Sgathaich

First burial in Calvary Cemetery was in 1902.

There is no record of your subjects listed under "Finnegan".  I have also looked up "Finegan" with negative results.  There is no burial listed under the name "Morgan" that could be of interest to you.

Good luck with your search

Seán.

I am interested in Bridget Garrigan, fowl dealer of Tisdale Street, Ardee, Co Louth if any member can throw any light on the topic.  Bridget lived in Ardee, Co Louth from 1880 until 1920.

Many thanks

Sean.

Can anyone tell me if a Fowl Dealer in the 19th or early 20th century required a licence or permit to carry on business?
