Hi Krisr1995, and welcome to RootsChat  :)

To protect personal privacy we don't post the names of living or possibly living persons on the forum.

Instead we exchange personal information via the Personal Message (PM) system. If you make another two posts to this topic (just an emoji in each will be sufficient) your PM facility will be activated and you will be able to send and receive PM's.

I will need to remove the names of your parent, my apologies.

If you have any questions about how to use RootsChat, or anything else, just ask on this topic in the meantime and myself or other members will be able to help you.

Regards,

This website recording the burials reveals that he was probably one of two later settlers who died and were buried there.

I wonder if a local library, family history society or NZSG branch might hold more information.

Hi xxindibeexx, and welcome to RootsChat  :)

As Lucy2 has mentioned, your topic on the Beginner's Board has provided some answers for you.

It's best practice to keep research on one place (i.e., confined to a single topic) if possible, so I suggest we lock this topic and leave the other one active. If you wish I can move that one to the New Zealand Board for you.

Please let me know if you'd like to to do that.

Regards,

In case you don't have this, he attested for the Armed Constabulary on 2 January 1869. He was 33 years of age and 5' 6 1/2" tall.

Hi TPB,

I have taken the liberty of supplying the complete entry for Edmond ANDRAHAN from Discharged in New Zealand, which shows that 'OT' denoted 'Otahuhu', not Otago (see page 128 of the book for the abbreviations used).

Hughes, H & L (1988) Discharged in New Zealand. Soldiers of the Imperial Foot Regiments who took their discharge in New Zealand 1840-1870.
43rd Light Infantry, p.32:
Regimental No.:      2775
Rank:         Private
Name:         ANDRAHAN, Edmond
Birthplace:      Glynn, Limerick
Trade (on enlistment): Lab (Labourer)
Date of Enlistment:   020252
Place of Discharge:   OT (e.g. Otahuhu)
Date of Discharge:   240366
Type of Discharge:   G (e.g. Gratuity)
Ship:                   LJ (e.g. LADY JOCELYN, dep. Calcutta 081063, arr. Auckland 101263)

Hi John,

The voyage you mention departed from the Cape of Good Hope on 7 November 1864, according to the report published in the New Zealander on  24 December 1864, Page 4. This includes the passenger list.

I've searched Archway for 'micro5019' and also tried other search terms, all without success so far, but I'm certain they will still hold it.

But to answer your question, many passenger lists do not appear online.
