Australia / Re: ADELINE GLADYS DYER

I have just received the copy of Adeline Gladys Bull's Death Certificate Image and this confirms that she was 35 years old when married to Arthur F J Bull in Queensland, which means 1947. Arthur was also the informant. We still need to find out whether she married as Adeline Gladys Dyer or Ellis, as this would confirm whether Adeline G and Adeline C are the same person.
The Death Cert. indicates that there were NO issues either living or deceased.
I have just sent off for the marriage details of the Ellis-Dyer marriage for confirmation one way or another.

My apologies to everyone who has contributed so far to this topic, as for the past week, I have not been in a position due to health, where I could respond in a timely fashion.
Most responses have been very helpful and I am in the process now of seeking a Transcription copy of Adeline's Death Certificate which should shed more light on some of the unanswered questions, especially whether there actually was a daughter born in 1930 with Harold Weaver.
It's unfortunate that a lot of what we want is outside the current available time frame in Queensland, but will continue to search the newspapers for details through Trove in the hope of having some success.
Your contributions have been greatly appreciated and I hope we can resolve, if possible, the remaining issues, and I will advise results of the Transcription Death Certificate once I receive it.
Thanks again, Wildcats13

Australia / ADELINE GLADYS DYER
« on: Friday 22 October 21 08:47 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to find details of the correct husband of ADELINE GLADYS DYER, youngest daughter of Albert Ernest Dyer and Ada Farquharson, born in 1912 (25425/1912) in Annondale, NSW. According to the Ancestry.com Public Member Trees, they show that she married a Harold Edward Weaver, however there is no confirming details of the marriage in the BDM's of NSW, VIC or QLD. The only evidence of a marriage by Harold Edward Weaver is to a Olive Annie Wicks in 1944 (NSW 24346/1944), and on the Australian Electoral Rolls, they were found to be living together between 1949 to 1963 at 28 Watkins Street, Golden Grove, NSW. There was another Harold Edward Weaver born in 1891 in NSW, but died in 1892 (NSW-443/1892).
I couldn't find Adeline on the Australian Electoral Rolls, and apart from Adeline's birth details, The only other information found was her death details in the Qld. BDM, which showed she appears to have married a man named UNKNOWN BULL. She is shown as having died on 25 May 1963, somewhere in Queensland (Reg: 1963/B/58544). Parents are correctly shown as Albert Ernest Dyer and Ada Farquharson.
Hoping you can shed some light on the problem.

Australia / Re: Sarah Parsons

To consider searching further for SARAH PARSONS, I will need to find confirmation of her birth to the Harmon & Ellen/Helen PARSONS family unit, and so far, I can find no indication of that occuring. If she was born and maybe died soon after, it doesn't appear in the records that I have searched. If she lived she was not included in the family photo. My pursuit for Sarah, was based purely on the death notice that I found, and that is now known to be incorrect. Always open to new considerations of pursuit, but my gut is telling me it will likely be futile.

The Transcript for Sarah Bedell has arrived and indicates that she was born Sarah Rush with parents Harmon & Ellen and married Lewis Wesley Bedell around 1882 in America, and was only in Australia for 5 months before she died, so she is certainly not the Sarah I was looking for.
I am now of the opinion, that after further checks of the PARSONS family, that it appears that there was no SARAH in the family.
Thanks to everyone for your contributions.

Australia / Sarah Parsons

I have been trying to find details about SARAH PARSONS a daughter of Harmon Parsons and Helen/Ellen Dodds Wright Keen. She would have been born shortly after 1886 when the last known child Mabel was born.
I believe I saw where she might have married a man named Bedell or Bidell and that she die in the early 1930's in NSW, but I can't find that information anymore.
Harmon died in 1915 and Ellen died in 1918 aged 77 years, and they had 13 other known children between 1867 and 1886.
Hoping someone can assist with finding Sarah.

Australia / Re: PARENTS OF EDWARD MAURICE HARVEY
« on: Monday 08 February 21 07:57 GMT (UK)  »
Thanks to everyone who has assisted so far.
It appears that we have gone as far as we can at this stage.
I have received confirmation from the State Library of Queensland, who says they can find no records of Edward Maurice Harvey or his possible father's Edward Richard Harvey or Richard Maurice Harvey having been born or lived in Queensland during the required period.
I will continue to look at other possibilities. The family member has indicated that it's possible that Edward's mother was Jewish from stories she has heard.

Thanks again for your help.

Regarding the past few posts re; Kathleen Ryan, I am fully aware of the issues noted, as I have been battling to sort them out for some time, I didn't mentioned them because they have no bearing on who were the parents of Edward Maurice Harvey.
However, since it has ben raised, Kathleen's mother was Emma Jane Cardwell, also known as Emily May. She had three known marriages to Alfred Nicholas Twiss, Michael Keating, John Leslie Fogarty, and Ivy Aileen (Kathleen) and Alice Frances Cardwell with unknown partners. Alice is registered three times with the same Reg. No. as Cardwell, Twiss and Fogarty.
When Ivy was born, Emma was associated with a James Hill but never married, so he is likely the father.
Kathleen used both names throughout her life. Following the divorce with William Ryan, she immediately married Edward Maurice. The father of Edna could be either Ryan or Harvey.
John Clive Ryan grew up with Edward and assumed the Harvey name as he grew up.
A tangled web for another time.

Hi, I thank everyone for your great efforts so far, and hope we can still find the right result.
Some comments on the reply's; Robert, Edward M was definitely born about 1888, and I am confident that he was born in Brisbane or in the region.
I am constantly talking with his grand daughter and she confirms he died in 1944, but has no knowledge about where he was born. I speak with confidence in saying that many people in that period were not outspoken in talking about family and their past. My family is a great example.
I have not had any success in searching the Qld. BDM online, so I will try to get into the State Library and sift through the records, but will have to check as I am not sure if that is okay at the moment with Covid 19.
